The Perro Collection Step-In Harness is a leather dog harness your dog steps into, handcrafted in our own atelier in Tuscany, Italy, in two and a half to four hours, with multi-layer gold-coloured hardware and your dog's initial on the hangtag, free of charge.
The step-in design is our own and protected by design right. It is made from the same Italian leathers as our collars and leashes, so harness, leash and collar can match in colour and width. Perro Collection was founded in Amsterdam in 2017, has more than 50,000 customers and ships every order from the Netherlands.
How does a step-in harness go on?
Lay the harness on the ground and let your dog step in. Lift it, fasten the closure and clip the leash to the ring on the back. The ring at the front holds the hangtag with your dog's initial. Nothing goes over your dog's head.

Step-in harness or H-Harness?
Choose the step-in harness if you want the simplest way on and off. Choose the H-Harness, also known as a Y-harness or chest harness, if you want a construction built around free shoulder movement. The Sage harness is made from chrome-free Italian leather. The Limited Edition sets combine a step-in harness, a matching leash and a poop bag holder in grained leather. All our leather comes from Italy, from tanneries certified by the Leather Working Group with a Gold Rating.
How do I find the right size?
Measure your dog right behind the front legs, all the way around the chest. Compare the measurement with our dog size and fit guide. If your dog sits between two sizes, ask our team in the chat before you order. A harness that sits too loose is easier to slip out of, so check the fit again after the first walks and re-measure a growing puppy regularly.
Size S comes in two widths. Choose the same width as your leash, so the set lines up.
Two and a half to four hours of handwork
Every step-in harness is made by hand: pattern construction, cutting the leather, finishing the edges, stitching, fitting the hardware and a final check. The edges are rounded for comfort. Buckles and rings are multi-layer gold-coloured: the finish is built up in several layers, which makes it resistant to tarnish.
A free initial on the hangtag
Every Perro Collection step-in harness can carry one initial on the hangtag, hand-engraved in gold foil, at no extra cost. A personalised harness can be exchanged for another size of the same harness in the same colour, but it cannot be refunded. Harnesses without an initial can be returned within 14 days.
