Perro Collection luxury leather dog collars are handcrafted in our own atelier in Tuscany, Italy, from three qualities of Italian cow leather, with multi-layer gold-coloured hardware and your dog's initial on the hangtag, free of charge.
Each collar takes one and a half to two and a half hours of handwork: cutting the leather, finishing the edges, stitching, fitting the hardware and a final check. The brand was founded in Amsterdam in 2017 and has more than 50,000 customers. Every order still leaves from the Netherlands.
Which leather is right for your dog?
We make our collars in three Italian leathers. None is better than the others; they simply read differently.
| Full grain nappa | Bovine grained leather | Natural grain leather | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Surface | Smooth finish, glove-like to the touch | Soft, with a subtle pebble structure | Soft and silky, with a natural grain |
| Look | Clean and polished | Relaxed, with a light grain | Natural |
| For example | Beige, Caramel, Taupe | Mint, Caffe Latte, Avocado, Lila | Nero, Marrone, Fiamma, White Wedding |
If you like a collar that disappears into a well-cut coat, choose nappa. If you prefer a little texture you can feel under your fingers, choose bovine grained leather. For a soft, natural feel, choose natural grain. All our leather comes from Italy, from tanneries certified by the Leather Working Group with a Gold Rating.
Is a leather dog collar a good choice for my dog?
For a dog that walks calmly on the leash, a well-made leather dog collar is a good everyday choice. Every Perro Collection collar is made by hand in Tuscany from real Italian cow leather with finished edges. It is adjustable, with a buckle scaled to the size. Fit it snug, with room for two fingers underneath.
Collar or harness?
A collar carries your dog's tag every day and suits a dog that walks calmly on the leash. A harness spreads the pressure across the chest instead of the neck. Many owners use both: a collar for the tag, a step-in harness or H-Harness for the walk. For the full comparison, read collar or harness for a puppy.
How do I choose the right size and width?
Measure your dog's neck where the collar naturally sits and compare it with our dog size and fit guide. The size finder on that page recommends a size from your measurement. If your dog sits between two sizes, ask our team in the chat before you order.
Some sizes come in two widths. Choose the same width as your leash or harness, so the set lines up. For the Fur collars, read the measuring note on the product page first: the Montone lining needs a little extra room. For the two-finger check and how often to re-measure a growing puppy, read how tight a dog collar should be.
A collar for the city, not the stable
Our collars are made for a day that moves from a morning walk to a café table, a hotel lobby or the office. Slim proportions, finished edges and quiet colour, so the collar belongs to your dog rather than to a logo.
Multi-layer gold-coloured hardware
Buckles, rings and fittings are multi-layer gold-coloured: the finish is built up in several layers, which makes it resistant to tarnish. Every piece is fitted to the collar by hand.
A free initial on the hangtag
You can add one initial to the hangtag of your dog's collar, hand-engraved in gold foil, at no extra cost. A personalised collar can be exchanged for another size of the same collar in the same colour, but it cannot be refunded. Collars without an initial can be returned within 14 days. Sale items are final sale.
What customers say
"The leather is buttery soft and having a smaller width available makes them comfortable for my girls to wear all day."
